[Bildanfrage 2022/19] Mounted on one sheet (Reichenbach: Herb. Orchid. Nr. 53528) with W0148850, W0177795 and W0177796. The material originated from at least three different orchid growers/nurseries (W. Bull, J. Veitch & sons and J. Day). The identity of the fragments labelled W0177796 and of those in the capsule at the bottom left (with several fragments, several smaller capsules and one loose label of J. Day s.n.) remains doubtful, and it is not clear to which fragments the label of J. Veitch & sons 80 (W0177795) refers. Although only J. Day is mentioned in the protolgue ("One of the Assam introductions of J. Day, Esq."), it cannot be ruled out that also other fragments on this sheet are part of the original material given the information available at present. Reichenbach did not cite a particular specimen and all three nurseries were geographically close and may have exchanged plants before they were formally described. Since the two fragments of W0177794 clearly came from J. Day and have a label in Reichenbach´s hand that predates the protologue (6.7.[18]68), these are the only parts unambiguously representing original material and should be given preference in lectotype designation (C. Bräuchler 2022-04-28).
