[F. L. Scribner to E. Hackel:] 372 Avena. This is the Avena versicola of Hook. Flor. Bor. Am. but I think not of Villars. It is nearer Avena pratensis L. & I have privisionally placed it under that species. Please examine and give me your opinion.
